MPP Lisa Thompson, Huron-Bruce

Heavenly Father, we pray for MPP Lisa Thompson today.  Thank you for her passion for life and her passion to serve her community through serving as MPP.  We know that this is a challenging role and we ask that You would give her great wisdom, grace and insight as she fulfills it.  We ask that You would bless her relationships and that the people around her would be a great joy to her.  Help her with the unique challenges that she will face today and give her success as she does her best to help others.  We pray that You would keep her in good health and cause her soul to prosper today! Amen

Lisa Thompson is a lifelong resident of Huron-Bruce, born in East Wawanosh. Lisa has always been an active member of her community. She has served as Chair of the Ontario 4-H Foundation as well as a Trustee; Chair of the International Goat Symposium, and also Vice-Chair of Ontario Agri-Food Education Inc. One of her proudest accomplishments was leading the growth of Teeswater’s Ontario Dairy Goat Cooperative, from a regional to provincial organization, and into a multi-million dollar business venture. And interestingly enough - she also found time to join Team Farmall in 2007 and this group of Farmall enthusiasts found time to prove - tractors really can dance!! 

Lisa was re-elected to the Ontario Legislative Assesmbly in 2014 as the provincial representative for the Riding of Huron-Bruce. As MPP, Lisa brings – with pride – her rural roots to Queen’s Park advocating for Huron-Bruce. Lisa also serves as Critic for the environment.  She participated in a non-partisan Lung Health Caucus and she also served on the Justice Standing Committee as well as the Agencies, Boards& Commissions Standing Committee.

Lisa and her husband Dennis live outside of Teeswater on the Schiestel Family century farm and proudly support their family and community at every chance.

 

MPP Hon Glenn Thibeault, Sudbury

Lord Jesus I want to thank You for Glenn Thibeault and his willingness to serve the riding of Sudbury. I thank You that he has a passion and drive to see Sudbury prosper and flourish in the province. I ask that roadways and pathways would be opened up for industry and prosperity in that region. I also pray that the community would be lifted up and elevated as a region where they care for, lean on, and better one another. I ask that You would give him wisdom and leadership in how to put their best interests forward with favour and acceptance. Let Your hand also rest with safety and protection on his wife and two daughters so that he can concentrate on those that You have called him to love and serve.

Glenn is currently the Minister of Energy. He was born and raised in Sudbury, and is a graduate of Cambrian College. He lives in Sudbury with his wife, Yolanda, and their two daughters.

MPP Monique Taylor, Hamilton Mountain

We are delighted to pray for Monique Taylor in the Hamilton Mountain riding.  We pray for your daughter, we ask Lord and pray for her protection for her and her family.   We pray for her health and strength as she serves and dedicates her life and time for the people in her riding in Ontario.  Help her daily with all her busy schedule, responsibilities, meetings, and reaching out to help all those she meets in her constituents in Hamilton.  We pray for her team and staff, and we especially pray and cover her today with Your blessings and favour.  We ask these things in your precious name Jesus. Amen

Monique Taylor is a community advocate who has been MPP for Hamilton Mountain since 2011.  A graduate of the Toronto School of Business, an experienced hospitality worker, a key player in the campaign to save the McMaster Emergency Room, and an Assistant to Councillor Scott Duvall, Monique knows the everyday struggles of the people of Hamilton firsthand.

As MPP, Monique has worked hard on issues related to children and youth. In 2012, she introduced Bill 42, designed to give full investigative power to the provincial Ombudsman in relation to decisions made by children’s aid societies.  As a Member of the Select Committee on Developmental Services, Monique has been a strong advocate on behalf of families facing the extreme challenges of members living with serious developmental disabilities.
