Let us pray for our Provincial Member of Parliament Todd
Smith. Todd Smith serves as Member in Prince Edward – Hastings area. Father we pray for Todd today, Lord we ask
that you would bless him with health and strength, Lord we pray that you would renew
his passion to serve the people of Ontario through his office there. Lord you said if we needed wisdom just to ask
you and you would give it, we pray Lord that you will give Todd wisdom as he
serves. We ask Lord to surround him with Godly counsel. We pray that he would be
a man of integrity and of good character, and always ensure all decisions made he
would acknowledge You and You will direct his path. Father we pray for the
staff as they work tirelessly trying to meet the needs of their constituents.
We also bring before you Todd wife and daughters, we ask that you would protect
them and keep them in your loving care, keep this family strong. We thank you Lord for Todd and his commitment
and for making a difference. Thank you for reminding us to pray for our Members
in Parliament. We ask these things in
Jesus Precious Name. Amen.
BIOGRAPHY
Todd was first elected to represent Prince Edward-Hastings riding at the Ontario Legislative Assembly in the General Election on October 6th, 2011. He has was re-elected in the June 12th, 2014 Provincial Election.
Todd has served as the Official Opposition Critic for Small Business and Red Tape, Citizenship and Immigration Critic and currently is Critic for the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games slated to take place in the Greater Toronto Area in the summer of 2015.
Among his other legislative duties, Todd is presently a member of the Standing Committee on Justice Policy, and previously served on the Legislative Affairs Committee and the Standing Committee on General Government.
Todd is the Chair of Community Outreach for the Ontario PC Caucus and is a member of the PC Job Creation Task Force.
Todd is committed to providing effective representation for the residents of Prince Edward-Hastings. He and his office staff enjoy assisting local citizens get the assistance that they need from their provincial government. Todd is also committed to returning fiscal accountability to Queen's Park.
A graduate of Riverview High School in New Brunswick, Todd moved to Belleville in the early 1990's and has called the Quinte-area his home ever since. He now lives in the Oak Hills with his wife Tawnya, a local high school teacher, and two daughters Payton and Reagan.
Todd continues to be a strong supporter of community and charitable events. He coached for many years in the Belleville Bearcats Minor Hockey Association and has served with the Quinte chapter of the ALS society, Operation Red Nose Quinte and dozens of other organizations. A proud graduate of Loyalist College in Belleville, Todd has also served on the Loyalist College Advisory Board. He also has the distinction of being the first ever winner of the Dancing with the Stars Quinte contest (thanks to his partner Andrea Doucette).
Prior to entering politics, Todd was an institution in morning radio at Quinte Broadcasting stations for more than 16 years, where he held the News Director position for CJBQ, Mix 97 and Rock 107. Todd was also the play-by-play announcer on Belleville Bulls telecasts on the OHL Tonight on TV Cogeco.
