As a member of the Standing Committee on Justice Policy, we
thank You, Lord, for Honourable Taylor. She functions as Critic for
Accessibility and Persons with Disabilities as well as Critic for Children and
Youth Services. With these opportunities to make a difference for many who are
marginalized and vulnerable, we ask You to give her great wisdom. May she have
strength, courage and good judgment in the many issues confronting her daily.
May she have health and strength for the task. May her family be blessed as
they share her with the public. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Monique Taylor is a community advocate who has been MPP for Hamilton Mountain since 2011.
A graduate of the Toronto School of Business, an experienced hospitality worker, a key player in the campaign to save the McMaster Emergency Room, and an Assistant to Councillor Scott Duvall, Monique knows the everyday struggles of the people of Hamilton firsthand.
Putting her experience to good use, Monique works tirelessly on behalf of Mountain residents to get results when dealing with government departments. Her experience also serves her well as a community bridge-builder.
As MPP, Monique has worked hard on issues related to children and youth. In 2012, she introduced Bill 42, designed to give full investigative power to the provincial Ombudsman in relation to decisions made by children’s aid societies.
As a Member of the Select Committee on Developmental Services, Monique has been a strong advocate on behalf of families facing the extreme challenges of members living with serious developmental disabilities.
Monique Taylor is a fighter Hamilton can count on to make life fairer and get results.
