
Sarah Campbell is a community advocate with a proven track record of helping to make life more affordable in the North.
Born in Atikokan to a family of forest industry workers, she is known for her advocacy on energy issues and efforts to raise consumer awareness about expensive electricity contracts. In 2013, she introduced the Energy Consumer Protection Amendment Act, aiming to ban fixed-rate energy contracts that exploit residential consumers. This year, Sarah introduced a motion designed to improve winter road maintenance in advance of the 2015 winter season.
Educated at Lakehead University, she spent the summers of her youth working at the Thunder Bay Crown Attorney’s Office, the Ear Falls Sawmill, and the Lac Seul Onaway Lodge. Until she was elected, she represented Oxdrift on the Kenora District Services Board (KDSB) and on the District of Kenora Unincorporated Ratepayers Association (DoKURA). She is also the past chair of Hoshizaki House.
