Heavenly Father, we
lift Hon. Marie-France Lalonde up to you
today and thank you for her life. What a remarkable impact she has had on her
community and we thank you for bestowing these wonderful gifts and qualities of
leadership, stewardship and generosity upon her. We pray that you would grant
her the strength and endurance she needs to continue on this wonderful path you
have blessed her and her community with. We pray that your name would be
glorified through this wonderful work (Isaiah 9:6). In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Marie-France Lalonde was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2014 as the MPP for Ottawa-Orléans. On September 4th, 2015, she was appointed as the new Chief Government Whip and became the first woman from Ottawa to hold this position. Lalonde currently serves as Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs after being appointed by Prime Minister Kathleen Wynne on January 7th, 2017.
