Marie-France Lalonde MPP - Ottawa-Orléans

Heavenly Father we exalt your today. You are the Father of lights. We acknowledge your greatness and faithfulness today. As we pray we ask for your blessing on Marie-France Lalonde and the riding of Ottawa-Orleans. We pray for unity in our government and that you will use Marie-France for your glory. We pray for your wisdom in every decision she is called upon to make. May you be glorified in and through her leadership as she serves in government. In Jesus name amen.

BIOGRAPHY

Marie-France Lalonde represents the riding of Ottawa-Orléans. She was first elected to the Ontario legislature on June 12, 2014. She was also appointed as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure (Economic Development) and to the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs.

For the past 17 years, Marie-France Lalonde has been caring for people in our community as a social worker and business owner. With a degree in social work from the University of Quebec in Hull, she put her leadership and skills to work in a career that began at the Children's Aid Society, followed by the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Hospital.

Throughout the last decade, Marie-France has continued her career in caring for people and became the co-owner and executive director of the Portobello Manor in Orléans. Her work won her the 2010 New Business of the Year award from the Orléans Chamber of Commerce. Currently, she is the Vice-President of CARP Ottawa, serves on the Community Advisory Committee for the Champlain Community Access Centre and is part of the working group on affordable housing for seniors with the United Way.

Her volunteerism and community leadership earned her a Leading Women Building Communities award from the government of Ontario.

Marie-France was  the Regional Director of Marketing and Sales in Eastern Canada for All Seniors Care Living Centres prior to being elected as an MPP.

Marie-France, her husband Alvaro and daughter Monica, have been proud to call Ottawa-Orléans home for the last 14 years.
