Jeff Yurek - MPP for Elgin-Middlesex-London

Father in Heaven, today we lift up your son Jeff Yurek. Lord, Jeff serves as the MPP for Ontario in the Elgin – Middlesex London riding. Father, we pray that you would bless him today as his serves the people and their needs in this riding. Thank you Lord that Jeff loves and puts his passion to work for all of Ontario.
We pray that he will hear from You Lord, and that You would lead him and guide him in all decisions, give him confidence, knowledge and fill his heart with wisdom. Lord I pray that Jeff would surround himself with godly counsel, that his heart and ears would be attentive to acknowledge you and to always do what is right in Your sight. Father, there are so many sacrifices that our government leaders make; I pray Lord that you would help Jeff in every area of his life; bless him in his health, pour your spirit upon him and his family and make Your Word known to them. Thank you Lord for Jeff as he serves today. Bless him and keep him this summer with some peace and rest. In Jesus Precious Name. Amen.

BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in St. Thomas Jeff followed in his father’s footsteps and enrolled in the Pharmacy Program at the University of Toronto.  Upon graduating the program in 1995, Jeff went to work at the pharmacy started by his father in 1963 eventually becoming co-owner with his brother.  In this capacity, he continued to build on the Yurek Pharmacy’s sterling reputation and expanded the business into the home health care sector.  His experience in pharmacy also led him to accept a position as a teaching associate with the University of Toronto’s Structured Practical Experience Program (SPEP).

Despite the busy schedule that comes from running a small business, Jeff has always remained very involved in his community.  Jeff has been a dedicated member of both the Knights of Columbus and Rotary Club. He has also served as the President of the Alzheimer’s Society.

In October 2011, after a long year which included a highly contested nomination process and an eventful election, Mr. Yurek was elected as the provincial representative for the riding of Elgin-Middlesex-London.  Jeff’s decision to run was largely motivated by his desire to improve the province for the sake of his daughter.  Being apart of the healthcare sector, Jeff is also passionate about advocating the improvement of healthcare in Ontario.

Coming from a large family, Jeff understands the importance of spending quality time with his own. Despite the frenzied schedule of the legislature, Jeff’s most important priority is his daughter Maggie and wife Jenn.
