MPP Hon Tracy MacCharles - Pickering-Scarborough East



Father God thank you for Hon Tracy MacCharles and her service to the people of Pickering Scarborough East. Cause her to come to know you in a supernatural way so that she may be used by you to execute righteousness and truth. I ask that you visit her with divine wisdom and insight into your plans for Pickering Scarborough East. Protect her and her family and cause them to come into relationship with you that they may live a peaceful life.  In Jesus name I pray for peace and blessing on Tracy. Amen

Tracy MacCharles was born and raised in Pickering–Scarborough East. She is a woman who brings people together, actively listens and works with them to achieve results.

Tracy MacCharles currently has a dual appointment as both Minister of Government and Consumer Services and Minister Responsible for Accessibility. The Minister serves as a member of the Legislation and Regulations Cabinet Committee and the Minister’s Tables for Transportation, Transit and Infrastructure as well as Poverty Reduction and Social Inclusion.
Tracy has over 20 years experience in human resources management working in the private, public and not for profit sectors including serving as Vice President of Human Resources, Manulife Financial for the Corporate and Information Technology Divisions. In 2004, she established her own Human Resources practice focused on areas she is most passionate about: health care, community health, education, employment, human rights, discrimination prevention, organizational change and effectiveness.
Tracy has been a champion for disability advocacy. She is the former Chair of the Ontario Accessibility Standards Advisory Council with a mandate to advise the Minister of Community of Social Services on the implementation of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. Tracy also served on the Durham Board of Education’s Special Education Advisory Committee for over five years.
Elected to the Ontario Legislature on October 6, 2011, Tracy has served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Children & Youth Services and Vice-Chair of the Cabinet Committee on Health, Education and Social Policy.
In February 2013, Tracy was appointed Minister of Consumer Services, by the new Ontario government.  She was appointed Minister of Children and Youth Services and the Minister Responsible for Women's Issues on June 24, 2014. On January 12, 2017 she was appointed to her current role as Minister of Government and Consumer Services.
Tracy holds an interdepartmental honours degree in Business and Public Administration from Brock University. Tracy and her husband Stephen Little live in Pickering with their children Travis and Genevieve.
