MPP: Michael Mantha - Algoma-Manitoulin

Lord,  thank  You for Hon Michael Mantha who is serving people of the north as a Member , Standing Committee on Justice Policy, Member Standing committee on the Legislative Assembly as well as a Critic for Northern Development  and Mines. Over a number of years of service he has been a strong voice for rural healthcare, safe road conditions, northern jobs, economic development and affordability for northerners. For this we are grateful. May You give him continued wisdom in his areas of responsibility. May he have integrity and perseverance in the many challenges of living in the north of our province. May he have safety as he travels. Please give him personal health and strength for his tasks.  We pray for his family that they  would also have health and patience to accept the service role and all that entails.



Michael Mantha is the current MPP for Algoma-Manitoulin. In the legislature, Michael has been a strong voice for rural healthcare, safe road conditions, northern jobs and affordability. Michael has spent his career standing up for northern workers and improving life for northern families.

Before being elected in October 2011, Michael worked with MP Carol Hughes advocating for constituents. Michael also worked with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities helping displaced workers access social services and training; as well as a Labour Representative for 17 years and spent 4 years with United Steelworkers Local 1-2693.


Michael lives in Elliot Lake with his wife Pauline and their two sons.
