Dear Father, we come to You and bring Mr. Peter Tabuns to You today. Thank you for his service to the people in the Danforth riding, and for his desire to make our nation strong. Lord, I ask that You would give direction in the area of Climate Change and Environmental matters, so that he would be able to give words of wisdom when needed. Be a blessing to his family this day, and may he know Your Peace. Amen.
Peter Tabuns is a distinguished community leader and a dedicated environmentalist.
A Toronto City Councillor from 1990 to 1997, he helped keep valuable services public and championed smoke-free restaurants and bars. As Executive Director of Greenpeace, he strongly advocated for increased environmental protections and for the adoption of the Kyoto Protocol.
Since his election to Queen’s Park in 2006, Peter has been a leader on a number of issues ranging from energy efficiency, to keeping people safe from toxins, to integrating new Canadians into the economy. As the Ontario NDP’s critic for energy and education, he has led the charge towards creating a new energy economy and has fought against skyrocketing hydro rates.
You can count on Peter Tabuns, an experienced advocate for his community, to continue to get results for the people of Toronto-Danforth.
