MPP Lorne Coe, Whitby-Oshawa

Lorne Coe, we pray that God’s blessing will rest on you as you bless and serve your nation. May your wisdom and direction be led as you make decisions. Lorne and his family have been residents of Whitby for more than thirty years.  Over his career, he has held senior positions in both the private sector and the Ontario civil service. For the previous thirteen years he has been elected and served on both Whitby Town Council and the Durham Regional Council. He has served on a number of important regional, town and provincial committees and boards, including as Chair of the Health and Social Services Committee and Co-Chair of Durham’s Local Diversity and Immigration Partnership Council.

Lorne was elected as MPP for the riding of Whitby-Oshawa on February 11th, 2016. He brings a long history of elected representation to the Legislature and has pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of his constituents are heard at Queen’s Park. He is passionate about health care issues, senior care, deficit and debt reduction, and proper and appropriate funding for higher education.

Lorne has been named, by Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown, as Critic of Training, Colleges and Universities, serves on the Legislative Committee on Social Policy and is the PC Party Liason to the Latin American and Spanish speaking cultural communities in the GTA.

Lorne and his wife are the proud parents of two children and grandparents of two young girls.
